71589 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 on the action ‘We will monitor and assess the effectiveness of health entities in fulfilling their functions and working towards pae ora, and steer collective actions where necessary.’ under ‘priority area of focus 4: We will monitor health outcomes and the effective functioning of the system’ within ‘Developing the future Ministry of Health: Our strategy and strategic intentions 2022 - 2026’?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: Between July and September 2024, Ministers continued to receive support and advice from the Ministry of Health to set expectations for their health Crown entities, in addition to reviewing and providing feedback on health Crown entity planning documents, which set out intentions for the delivery of key functions and legislative requirements. I have also been advised that during the quarter July to September 2024, the Ministry of Health engaged regularly with each of the health Crown entities to assess their quarterly performance reports, hold performance meetings and provide advice to Ministers regarding entity performance against expectations. The Hauora Māori Advisory Committee and iwi-Māori partnership boards also have critical monitoring roles.
