71520 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Is the Minister aware of the concern from Anna Sophia, centre manager at the Counselling Centre in Marton, that "I don’t believe the counsellors on Gumboot Friday contracts have to face the wrath and scrutiny of Te Kahui Kahu or monitoring visits or provide a mountain of verification checks. These counsellors just send an invoice to the fund for payment once they have seen the client for their allotted sessions"; if so, what, if anything, will he do to address this?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that I Am Hope has set criteria for all counsellors, therapists and health professionals that provide services for Gumboot Friday to ensure that they are suitably qualified and registered with an appropriate body, including that Police clearance criteria are met.
