71470 (2024). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: How much was spent on the second Mount Victoria Tunnel and Basin Reserve upgrade from 27 November 2023 - 31 May 2024, if any?

Hon Simeon Brown: As the Member will be aware following my response to Written Question 57696 (2024), Let’s Get Wellington Moving spent a total of $50,569,832 throughout the course of its programme developing the Emerging Preferred Option for Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and State Highway Improvements (SHI). Costs cannot be split out between the MRT and SHI aspects as these were tracked across the full programme, rather than as separable portions. Written Question reply 29522 (2024) confirms that I was advised that from 1 April 2024 to 31 May 2024, the NZTA spent $1,170,148 from the National Land Transport Fund on the SH1 Second Mt Victoria Tunnel and Basin Reserve upgrade project.
