71109 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Associate Minister of Finance: Is the minister considering way to enable the Natural Hazards Commission to have more "commercial pragmatism" as set out in the North Island Weather Event review?

Hon David Seymour: I am not currently considering ways NHC can have more “commercial pragmatism” as referenced in the North Island Weather Events review. As noted in focus areas 3 and 4 of the North Island Weather Events implementation plan, NHC is looking at how specialised resources can be more effectively used following an event as well as potential different approaches to the assessment of claims aimed at improving outcomes for homeowners.
