69742 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: If the Mental Health, Addiction, and Suicide Prevention Assurance Group has formed, how much are the members being paid per day?
Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that the Mental Health, Addiction and Suicide Prevention Assurance Group has been meeting since June 2024 and had meetings with the Ministry of Health and Health New Zealand in June, August and October 2024. Additionally, I met with the Group in June, August and November 2024.
The groups membership is comprised of health professionals with expertise, including in: mental health, addiction and suicide prevention, governance, risk assurance and lived experience.
I am further advised that that members are paid fees for participation in the monthly meetings in accordance with the Cabinet Office Circular Fees Framework. Two members do not receive members fees because they undertake this work as part of other roles they are remunerated for.
The Ministry of Health advise me that all group members are required to declare any actual, possible or perceived conflicts of interest.
