69726 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Māori Development: How many candidates who applied for the waitangi tribunal were progressed to the interview stage, and was one of them Richard Prebble?

Hon Tama Potaka: Candidates do not apply for appointment to the Waitangi Tribunal, nor are any interviewed. Nominees are identified in consultation with the Chief Judge, the Minister of Justice and other Ministerial colleagues. Their interest, availability and suitability are then determined, and a final list is provided for my recommendation.
