69725 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: Why has there been a drop of funding in the Carbon Neutral Government Programme from $5,550,000 from the previous financial year to $3,590,164 for this financial year?

Hon Erica Stanford: The $5,550,000 amount from the 2023/24 Budget described in written parliamentary question 13697 (2024) is not comparable to the $3,590,164 amount from the 2024/25 Budget described in written parliamentary question 57795 (2024). The $5,550,000 provided through the 2023/24 Budget described funding for both the Ministry of Education’s (the Ministry) Carbon Neutral Government Programme (CNGP), and also included the full budget for the Emissions Reduction: Schools and Kura programme. The $3,590,164 described in the response to written parliamentary question 57795 (2024) accounts for the Ministry’s CNGP, but only a small portion (staff time and consultancy costs) of the budget for the Emissions Reduction: Schools and Kura programme.
