69601 (2024). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Housing: Why did the Government discontinue public housing quarterly reports and regional factsheets, following the final December 2023 quarterly report?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development made an operational decision to discontinue the Quarterly Public Housing Reports and the Regional Factsheets following an internal review of the Ministry’s data products. The review focused on ensuring the Ministry had a tight suite of fit for purpose products that minimise duplication. Production of the Quarterly Public Housing Reports and the Regional Factsheets was inefficient and almost all of the data published through these products is publicly available elsewhere. The reports were published 6-10 weeks after the end of the quarter, which meant they were often out of date when published. There are a few regional breakdowns included in these products that were not available elsewhere and these are being added gradually to other products.
