Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Mental Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 on the action area ‘Support healthy policies at national, regional and local levels that prevent and minimise gambling harm’ under ‘Objective 3: Strengthen leadership and accountability to achieve equity’ within the Ministry of Health’s Strategy to Prevent and Minimise Gambling Harm 2022/23 to 2024/25?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that national and regional contracts for public health services to prevent and minimise gambling harm include requirements to support policies that prevent and minimise gambling harm. This includes working with territorial authorities on their gambling policies, and advocating for evidenced-based policies that minimise gambling harm within other organisations and agencies.
