69552 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 toward the action ‘Support transformative and innovative ideas’, under ‘Strategic Priority 4:’ within the Ministry of Health’s New Zealand Health Research Strategy 2017 – 2027?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the quarter April to June 2024, Health New Zealand have been maintaining an Innovation Funnel to support the rapid assessment, development and adoption of new evidence-based technologies, research findings and innovation. I am also advised that in May 2024, the Health Research Council announced a record number of Explorer Grants which were awarded to a combined value of $3 million. These grants support some of the most innovative health research studies in the country, helping build momentum and capability for innovation in the health and science sectors.
