69455 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Education: What reports, briefings, emails, memos, aides-memoire, notes or written advice, if any, has the Minister and/or his Office received regarding dietary requirements in relation to the new healthy school lunches model; listed by title and date received?
Hon David Seymour: I regularly discussed the Ka Ora Ka Ako Healthy School Lunch Programme with the Ministry of Education during weekly officials' meetings. The Expert Advisory Group met with me four times. I also received two briefings between the announcement at Budget 2024 and the announcement on 22 September. In addition, I took a paper to Cabinet. These briefings were: • 3 July 2024 – Briefing Note: Ka Ora, Ka Ako | Healthy School Lunches – Expert Advisory Group progress update • 31 July 2024 – Briefing Note: Ka Ora, Ka Ako | Healthy School Lunches – Expert Advisory Group progress update • 24 September 2024 - Education Report: Cabinet Paper: Report Back on the Alternative Provision Model for Ka Ora Ka Ako | Healthy School Lunches Programme. This answer does not cover members of my Office who receive a large amount of phone calls and written material every week. Asking them to collate that material would require substantial collation and research and prevent them from undertaking their substantive roles. The Ka Ora Ka Ako Healthy School Lunch Programme will continue to provide every child within an eligible school, including those children with dietary needs, a healthy school lunch with the same nutritional content. This is also my response to written parliamentary questions 69457, 69458, 69459, 69460,69461, 69462, 69464, 69465, 69499, 69502, 69599 and 69600 (2024).
