69453 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Associate Minister of Justice: How many people was the minister referring to when she said "We've heard from many people, especially through emails to my office, which has stated that this [the new regime] has not gone far enough..." to Radio New Zealand?
Hon Nicole McKee: In order to respond to the Member's question I would need to manually search, review, and count communications across all platforms to determine whether these fall within the scope of the Member’s query. This process will be excessively time-consuming, administratively burdensome, and likely to divert my staff from their essential duties in supporting the governance of New Zealand. Therefore, pursuant to Speaker's Ruling 199/6, I do not believe it is in the public interest to direct my staff to carry out this task.
