Celia Wade-Brown to the Minister of Transport: What considerations, if any, were made regarding the Minister's decision to add the Lower North Island Integrated Rail Mobility (LNIRIM) and PBC stage RS4.3 projects to the Fast-track Schedule 2 projects, rather than going through other consenting processes?

Hon Simeon Brown: One of the criteria used by the Fast-Track Projects Advisory Group in its consideration of projects to be Fast-tracked was "whether access to the fast-track process will enable the project to be processed in a more timely and cost-efficient way than under normal processes." Our Government is committed to enabling fast-track consenting for road, rail, and port projects across New Zealand to deliver these priority projects faster and boost economic growth.
