Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 toward the objective ‘Educate health care providers on harm reduction and prevention of hepatitis C’ under ‘Focus area 2: Prevention and harm reduction’ in the National Hepatitis C Action Plan?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, regional hepatitis C services continued to work with needle exchanges to provide key harm reduction messages for health care workers. Education sessions were also delivered to staff in Corrections, primary care services, and Opioid Substitution Treatment services.
