69405 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 toward the objective ‘Reduce stigma and discrimination for people with hepatitis C who inject drugs’ under ‘Focus area 2: Prevention and harm reduction’ in the National Hepatitis C Action Plan?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand completed preparations to relaunch a national approach to raise awareness about hepatitis C, to increase testing and treatment. The ‘Stick it to Hep C’ campaign, which commenced in July, includes a focus on reducing stigma for people who have or are injecting drugs.
