69391 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 has been made toward the action ‘Increasing national and local leadership and collaboration’ under Focus area 1: ‘Surveillance, information and knowledge system actions’ as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, the Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infections (STBBI) Technical Advisory Group continued to provide technical advice in relation to data and surveillance to the cross-agency STBBI programme team, with an initial focus on finalising the HIV Monitoring Plan. This advisory group included experts from the HIV sector. I am further advised the Burnett Foundation Aotearoa is funded to provide secretariate support to the HIV Forum, which continues to meet regularly. A forum in April brought together key researchers, service providers, and those working in HIV prevention and support services.
