Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 has been made toward actioning ‘Cross-government actions on HIV combination prevention’ under Focus area 2: Combination prevention and health promotion actions as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, the Burnett Foundation Aotearoa, in partnership with Positive Women, delivered HIV promotion, prevention, and testing services in tertiary educational institutions, funded through the HIV Action Plan. I am further advised that during the quarter, Te Manawa Taki region continued to offer regular clinics at Probation Service centres using the mobile hepatitis C van. This is a pilot approach working in collaboration with an HIV nurse, who also offered HIV and syphilis testing.
