69321 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Justice: When, if ever, does he expect the review of Treaty provisions in legislation to result in legislation being introduced into the House?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: Work on the review of legislation that includes reference to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi (the review) is in its early stages. Cabinet approved the purpose and scope of the review on 9 September 2024. I have since directed Ministry officials to develop options for timelines to make any amendments resulting from the review, taking into account the Government’s busy legislative programme.
