69318 (2024). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister of Immigration: How many, if any, Migrant Exploitation Protection Work Visas were granted to people due to non-payment of final wages due to liquidation, in the year to 30 June 2024?
Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that Immigration New Zealand does not hold this information. Exploitation claims are made to a team in Employment Services who assess the claims to determine whether it is credible that exploitation has occurred. This team may then issue a Report of Exploitation Assessment Letter which the claimant submits with their Migrant Exploitation Protection Work Visa application as evidence. This letter is limited to confirming that it is credible that exploitation may have occurred. The specific details about the report of exploitation is not information that is shared with Immigration New Zealand.
