Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter (April to June 2024) to ‘Consult on and co-design a consumer health data literacy service’ under ‘Horizon One’ of the Data and Information Strategy for Health and Disability: Roadmap 2021-2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, as part of the Hira Programme, Health New Zealand continued to engage with communities to learn about their health information needs. This included understanding current barriers for sharing and using health information. Understanding and addressing health literacy, and improving digital equity, is a key part of this.
