68196 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter (April to June 2024) ‘Develop equity measures for health data standards’ under ‘Horizon One’ of the Data and Information Strategy for Health and Disability: Roadmap 2021-2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand participated in a project led by Stats NZ to update the ethnicity standard classification. This work will improve collection of ethnicity data in the health sector in order to address equity gaps. I am further advised that work also continued on data protocols for recording gender and sex.
