Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, the following progress was made by Health New Zealand: • Breakfree to Smokefree campaign continued on TV, online video, social media, banners, and Google Search advertising. Over 40 individual assets and 102 localised community posters in four languages for sector and community were added to the campaign toolkit. • Coordinated monthly sector hui to support collaboration and knowledge-sharing. • Protect Your Breath campaign continued across online video, social media, Spotify, cinema advertising, bus shelters, posters, and 3D screens. • Supported World Smokefree May promotions by sharing national key messages and resources via Health NZ communications channels. • Ongoing management of the Smokefree and Vaping Facts websites and related community and sector queries. • Ongoing management of tobacco and vaping-related health education resources. • Dissemination of two new Smokefree resources: - The Ex-Smokers’ Guide to Being Vapefree to support people who’ve switched to vaping to become vapefree. - Let’s Clear the Air – Smokefree and Vapefree guidance for schools, a collaboration with Te Aka Whai Ora, Te Whatu Ora, the Ministry of Education, and the Drug Foundation. This resource was also translated into Te Reo Māori. • Protect Your Breath campaign activity continued across online video, social media, Spotify, cinema advertising, bus shelters, posters, and 3D screens.
