68158 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Work in partnership with responsible authorities to standardise professional and regulatory requirements across Te Whatu Ora, Te Aka Whai Ora and ACC to enable registered and unregistered staff to have training and experience pathways to advanced roles and improved interdisciplinary working across urban and rural health services’ under section 1.2 ‘Strengthening workforce whānau’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand continued to develop and expand training pathways for advanced practice roles, and for kaiāwhina transitioning into regulated professions.
I am further advised that during the quarter, Health NZ provided operational advice to Responsible Authorities, and workforce intelligence during consultations on standards and scopes of practice.
I am also advised that development continued as part of business-as-usual activities.
