68157 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Implement a workforce pipeline that is informed by intelligence (including a Common Person Number), works with education providers and professional bodies to ensure education and training programmes are in place to grow a quality and diverse healthcare workforce that supports all healthcare providers’ under section 1.2 ‘Strengthening workforce whānau’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand continued to advance work on implementing an intelligence-informed workforce pipeline. As at 30 June, the following progress had been made:
• Supply models for key workforces and population-based workforce needs have been established.
• Comprehensive workforce supply forecasting data developed, including:
- Information sourced from education providers.
- Data from Responsible Authorities
