Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Implement and monitor a programme providing nationally consistent cultural safety training to Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora workforces’ under section 1.2 ‘Strengthening workforce whānau’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand's approach to cultural safety was aligned with broader interventions in the Health Workforce Plan 2023/24, and focused on workforce wellbeing, and capacity building, as well as cultural safety.
