68140 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Ensure national consistency in early support for people and whānau experiencing family harm and violence by connecting them to community providers’ under section 2.1 ‘Pae ora Better health in our communities’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised during the April to June 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand continued to progress implementation of a National Non-Fatal Strangulation and Suffocation Assessment Service. This work involved setting up services across the country; training clinicians, and working with Police to develop referral pathways. The service will provide early support for people and whānau experiencing family harm and violence.
