68135 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 to ‘Provide education and resources to providers for the care of disabled parents and parents welcoming babies with impairments, aligned with the principles of Enabling Good Lives’ under section 2.2 ‘Kahu Taurima | Maternity and early years’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, initial changes were made to the ‘Well Child Tamariki Ora My Health Book’ provided to all families with newborn babies, to be inclusive of disabled parents and parents welcoming babies with impairments. I am further advised that there is ongoing work to ensure the views and needs of disabled peoples are fully represented when considering changes to services.
