68020 (2024). Scott Willis to the Minister of Climate Change: How does the proposed Project Kea project, being on the government’s fast track projects, align with the Government’s net-zero targets?

Hon Simon Watts: The 149 projects chosen by Cabinet to be listed in the Bill, including Project Kea, will be listed in Schedule 2 of the Bill. Once the Bill is passed, they will be able to apply to the Environmental Protection Authority. If they decide to grant an application, the panel can also recommend conditions to ensure adverse effects of the project on the environment are managed appropriately. This process will be managed by the Environmental Protection Authority.
