68005 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How, if at all, are Citizenship applications given priority when being processed by DIA?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) that applications of citizenship by grant are filtered into workstreams using a series of automated checks which are run across all applications to identify the amount of manual intervention required. Within each workstream, applications are allocated to officers in date order, with the oldest allocated first.
