67975 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Finance: What is the long-run effect on OBEGAL, if any, of any decrease in the number of New Zealand Units available for eventual surrender due to declined Emissions Trading Scheme auctions?

Hon Nicola Willis: If NZ Units that would have been sold at auction instead remain unsold, the total number of units available in the ETS in the long-run will be lower. The long-run effects on OBEGAL would be highly uncertain and I would not like to speculate on them.
