67953 (2024). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Local Government: What consultation, if any, is planned to take place with local iwi and hapū regarding intervening in Wellington City Council?

Hon Simeon Brown: Under Part 10 of the Local Government Act 2002, the Minister of Local Government has powers of assistance and intervention in relation to a local authority that has a problem. Appointing a Crown Observer does not require consultation with local iwi and hapu.
