Hon Chris Bishop: I am conscious that further regulation of boarding houses needs to be considered very carefully. There is a risk that further regulation, if undertaken too quickly or without having worked through any unintended consequences, could reduce the supply of boarding houses, leaving boarding house residents without a home. Officials are aware of interest from some stakeholders in developing a register.
