Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Justice: What consultation, if any, is planned to take place with iwi and hapū regarding the 28 pieces of legislation, dating back to 1986, that will have their Treaty of Waitangi provisions scrutinised with a view to change or repeal the clauses; if no consultation is currently planned to take place, when will it be?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I refer the Member to reply 66495 (2024). In addition, agencies are expected to engage with Māori and stakeholders before policy decisions are made.
