66588 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter April to June 2024 to implement the recommendation ‘Align Workforce development models of care’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, work progressed in agreeing the national pathway and competencies for physiotherapists working within the musculoskeletal pathway, which is on track to be implemented by districts from 31 October 2024. A national learning network was also established during the quarter to build the capability of the physiotherapy workforce. I am further advised that during the quarter, work was initiated with other professional groups such as audiologists and orthoptists to develop similar pathways for these clinical specialties.
