Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter April to June 2024 to implement the recommendation ‘Establish waiting time indicators for gastroscopy and record these in the national dataset’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy scope guidelines were developed in the Central region. The next step is to gain agreement that the guidelines become national performance indicators. I am further advised that a national dataset for endoscopy waiting time was established as part of the Rapid National Data Automation Programme.
