Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter April to June 2024 to implement the recommendation ‘Ensure regional cooperation to share access if clinical risk in one district for a modality is excessive compared to reasonable alternative access within the region’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, districts continued to work collaboratively within regions to manage clinical risk where there are capacity challenges in one district that can be supported by other districts in the region. Patients continue to be offered care where appropriate outside of the district where they live, and are offered travel assistance if that is required.
