Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter April to June 2024 to implement the recommendation ‘Further develop roles of Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand values highly the role of Nurse Practitioners as part of the multidisciplinary clinical teams, and is committed to supporting Registered Nurses through the 12-month Nurse Practitioner Training Pathway.
