66501 (2024). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister of Immigration: What advice, if any, has the Minister received regarding the development or implementation of the new National Occupation List scheme?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am yet to receive advice specifically on the development of the new National Occupation List (NOL). I was informed about the work by Stats NZ to potentially replace ANZSCO and my officials indicated that they were also involved in the consultation on this by Stats NZ. Regarding the immigration system’s implementation of the NOL, I am advised that there is no set date that agencies need to have the new classification implemented by. It will take some time for INZ to transition to the new classification system. They will continue to use ANZSCO in the meantime and provide a further update in 2025 when there is a confirmed date for implementation of the new classification system.
