66493 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Justice: What consultation, if any, has been carried out regarding the 28 pieces of legislation, dating back to 1986, that will have their Treaty of Waitangi provisions scrutinised with a view to change or repeal the clauses; listed by who the consultation was with, who was represented in the consultation, where and when the consultation was held?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: Work on the review of Treaty provisions is in its early stages and no consultation has been undertaken with external stakeholders to date. Cabinet approved the purpose and scope of the review on 9 September 2024. I have directed Ministry officials to develop a framework and options for timelines to make any amendments resulting from the review, taking into account the Government’s busy legislative programme.
