66452 (2024). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Disability Issues: What role, if any, will Ministry of Social Development play in implementing/investigating feedback received via Whaikaha's feedback form?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Ministry of Disabled People – Whaikaha has a webpage about Disability services complaints and feedback: https://www.whaikaha.govt.nz/contact-us/complaints-feedback#scroll-to-3 On 16 September, responsibility for the delivery of Disability Support Services (DSS) transferred from the Ministry of Disabled People to the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). A further process is yet to be completed to transfer the policy, quality, and support functions for DSS to MSD. This transfer is expected to be completed by the end of the year following consultation with staff. Until that time, the Ministry of Disabled People continues to provide those support functions to MSD. The Ministry of Disabled People collates the feedback, and if any is relevant to DSS, it will be passed onto the MSD DSS for direct consideration.
