Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Police considers firearms-related offences to be any offences in the Arms Act 1983 or any other offences that specify a firearm was involved (eg, robbery with a firearm). I am advised that 56 individuals, who are current validated patched or prospect gang members on the National Gang List, have been charged with a firearms-related offence in September 2024. Please note that gang information is snapshot data, and some of these individuals may not have been gang members at the time of the charge, and conversely, there may have been people who were gang members at the time of the charge but are no longer recorded as gang members.
