66405 (2024). Celia Wade-Brown to the Minister of Conservation: Has the Minister received an invitation to the COP16 (2024 United Nations Biodiversity Conference); If so, do they intend to attend?

Hon Tama Potaka: Yes. I will not attend COP16 as the focus of COP16 is on implementing the agreed Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and I am confident that officials are well-placed to represent the Government’s position on how this will be achieved. New Zealand will be represented by a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Department of Conservation, the Ministry for Primary Industries, and the Environmental Protection Authority.
