66404 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Housing: Was the $30.9m expected for Christchurch to receive for new transport infrastructure, as well as wastewater, stormwater and freshwater upgrades to support around 1400 new homes in a large development area in Papanui’s Cranford Basin paid out; if not will it be paid out and when?
Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that the Christchurch City Council has been contracted to receive $30.9 million from the Infrastructure Acceleration Fund for waters and transport infrastructure projects that will enable 1,400 dwellings in Papanui.
Under terms of the IAF Funding Agreement, the recipient will be paid in arrears as key milestones in the delivery of the infrastructure are achieved. The expected completion date for these projects ranges from FY2026 to FY2028.
Christchurch City Council has undertaken significant early works for the enabling of infrastructure projects and the first payment is expected to be claimed before the end of this calendar year.
