66398 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Did the Minister consider that the candidate for the Chief Human Rights Commissioner role needed to have "broad support within parliamentary circles" as noted in the document headed "Human Rights Commission" dated 7 June; if so what steps (if any) did he take to get that broad support?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: Yes. The three coalition parties in Government were consulted on the appointment of the Chief Commissioner.
