66354 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many schools, if any, have delivered the Get Firewise programme between 1 January 2024 and 30 September 2024?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fire and Emergency) that of the 2,003 schools with Year 1 and 2 pupils, 401 had completed the Get Firewise programme between 1 January and 30 September 2024. Fire and Emergency runs Get Firewise in two-yearly cycles, in line with its Statement of Performance Expectations. As at 30 September 2024, and in the current cycle between 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2025, 670 schools have completed Get Firewise.
