Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that a status tracker was introduced in March 2024, enabling applicants to see the status of their application. The tracker confirms that their application has been received, and the applicant receives an automated email when submitting their application. I am advised that the tracker does not show an estimated decision date or a place in a queue. The Department does not maintain a single queue of applications, but filters applications into different workstreams.
