66254 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Has Oranga Tamariki cut funding for services that community organisations provide to the Gloriavale Community, and if so, what services were these?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that some services funded by Oranga Tamariki to work with the Gloriavale Community in the 2023/24 financial year were for specific work which has now been completed. This included specific Gloriavale-related funding for Homebuilders and Safeguarding Children, and START and STOP, who were engaged to provide educational programmes to the community. I am further advised ongoing support for the Gloriavale Community continues to be provided by government agencies and community services remain involved. The services referred to above continue to receive funding from Oranga Tamariki to provide services to the West Coast more generally, including Gloriavale.
