66141 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: How many staff at Corrections are working in frontline roles, as of 30 September 2024?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections’ recruitment campaign is ongoing and I have been assured that hiring and training frontline staff, who manage approximately 9,900 people in prison and 26,000 people in the community, remains a top priority for Corrections. I am further advised that as at 30 September 2024, from a total of 10,343.8 FTE frontline roles, 632.9 FTE are unfilled. This is also my response to WPQ 66142 (2024).
