64906 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 on the action ‘Develop and implement a workforce strategy that increases and retains the number of Māori health practitioners working in the mate wareware sector, and increases the capacity and capability of Māori health providers to deliver mate wareware services’ under the objective ‘Strengthen leadership and capability across the sector’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Improving Dementia Mate Wareware Services in Aotearoa New Zealand Action Plan?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised the Health New Zealand Workforce Plan 2024-27 will include strategies to increase and retain Māori health practitioners working in the mate wareware sector. The workforce plan is due to be considered by Cabinet in November 2024. I also refer the Member to my response to Written Parliamentary Question 43901 (2024).
