Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter (April to June 2024) to implement the recommendation ‘Monitor, report and act upon impacts on equity for Māori from the pandemic, and specifically outline how Te Tiriti obligations will be met throughout the planned care reset and restart’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that an equity subcommittee of Health New Zealand’s Executive Leadership Team has been established. I am further advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, work continued to develop a suite of processes and tools to better understand inequities, and to coordinate and respond where there are persistent differences in access and engagement.
